Musandam Dhow Cruise: Discover the Norway of Arabia

Musandam, with its spectacular fjords, is the ‘Norway’ of the Middle East. This Northern Province is separated from the rest of mainland Oman by the United Arab Emirates and straddles the straits of Hormuz. Spectacular, rocky mountains rise 6500 feet above sea level, creating countless inlets and coves.

With an early start we commence our drive via the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, along the panoramic coastal side. We cross the border into Oman (visa arranged by us) and proceed towards the seaport of Khasab.

Here we board a wooden dhow and proceed towards the spectacular Fjords of Musandam, a breath-taking scene. There are very few fjords in the world and their beauty is charismatic. You can often find friendly dolphins following the dhow during the cruise.

The dhow is anchored at Telegraph Island. (The island originally got its name from being used as a telegraph cable station in the 1860’s, linking Western India, with Basra, Iraq.).

Here you can enjoy swimming and snorkeling in pleasant clear water, as well as enjoy a delicious lunch with refreshments and fruits. After a lazy afternoon on the dhow, we head back to Dubai in the evening.

An experience that water lovers will remember a lifetime!
